Our History

History

Our History

1997

Foundation

ETH juniors was established by five departmental student association presidents from ETH. This marked the beginning of a platform aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry.

2003

Commercial Registration

ETH juniors achieved an entry in the commercial register, formalizing its presence. This step provided a legal foundation for its operations and engagements.

2009

Campus Interview Initiation

The first Campus Interview event was held at Hotel Mövenpick in Glattbrugg. This event established a tradition of connecting students with potential employers in a relaxed setting.

2014

Personnel Leasing Approval

Seco granted approval for personnel leasing, expanding the range of services offered by ETH juniors. This approval allowed ETH juniors to provide temporary staffing solutions to businesses.

2015

jFund Launch

The jFund and the jFund Committee were launched to support startups. This initiative aimed at providing seed capital and guidance to budding entrepreneurs from the ETH community.

2018

Major Engineering Project

A significant engineering project with Alfa Romeo Racing was executed. This project showcased the practical application of academic knowledge in solving real-world engineering challenges.

Start-ups

At ETH juniors, we are deeply committed to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit. Our initiatives, including the jFund program, provide budding entrepreneurs with essential seed capital and guidance, paving the way for innovative ideas to evolve into successful ventures in the competitive market landscape. Through continuous support and a network of valuable resources, we aim to foster a thriving startup ecosystem that significantly contributes to the dynamic interplay between academia and the business world.
